Having chosen atonement/ at-one-ment, the Holy Spirit will guide awareness through projection and perception to the realisation that: self made will is but a mistaken choice, responsible for a mistake in view. Remember that none of these projections and perceptions are real; but they do seem very real and they are revealing insight about awareness.

“My self made will becomes increasingly clear, as I question and comprehend the implication of holding it tight. A misguided desire for my will is all that is delaying His Will illuminating my awareness. The pronounced contrast of light and dark within m awareness is finally understood. Will and identity are intrinsically related. Through free will choice, the alien mindset simply disappear when I release my grip. Unless asked back, by wanting the projection to be projected my way. In the dark.”

A split mind is a consequence of fluctuating will. The instrument and procedure to restore both minds is forgiveness, as applied and detailed in ACIM. This term forgiveness, as encountered in everyday life is frequently misunderstood, and primarily thought of as re-fastening: Sewing, buttoning, zipping, or securing with velcro perhaps? Parts which are sewn are always susceptible to tear when one side is caught or pulled. Parts which are buttoned can come undone without intent, through active movement or expansion. Parts which are pulled together with a zipper separate with ease; simply sliding upward and downward. Parts held together with velcro can only bare limited weight. And glue cannot sustain much heat. Our common understanding and application of forgiveness always involves a temporary re-fastening as there are always two parts involved.

For forgiveness to be permanent, we accept that wholeness cannot be separated. Perception of wholeness can and often is, but false perception does not make true. True forgiveness is accepting that anything happening within my awareness is not real, so long as I am aware of individual parts. This may not seem to be the easiest or most convenient mode of forgiveness, but upon closer look it proclaims that no refastening is ever required because no parts truly exist. Therefore all I need forgive, is my perception of a split mind and fluctuating will, by recognising true identity with Spirit Oneness.
