Find Love

How often have you heard someone say “I could never find love, my list of requirements is too long.”

This statement is both true and false.

Truth is present in the idea that

a) love is not something to find, and

b) requirements or conditions block awareness of love’s presence.

False is the idea that

a) there are too many requirements - one is all that's needed, and

b) the suggestion that I will never know love.

Let's transform this statement into a healing affirmation for everyone:

“I will remember and know love when I chose to surrender all my requirements that simply block awareness to love’s constant presence.”

To decree love needs commitment, puts handcuffs on you and handcuffs on me. Binding us to a way of relating that commences a trade. What had previously been free, no longer dare shared but now fare for exchange. The cost being fixed and labelled and tagged. A bargain to some eyes that goes often unseen.

Perhaps more or less similar with the sex trade. The bargain for sex provided not for less than the terms agreed, yet without the understanding that no more is received. Defining committed and uncommitted sexual union seems clear in outline but frequently misunderstood in terms of its purpose and why its desired. Defining committed and uncommitted love is akin to defining committed and uncommitted air.

In an attempt to bind air by filling a balloon, is air bound, or is the balloon bound? The balloon will be airborne so long as the balloon is full. Yet what is the purpose of a balloon other than to convey the presence and qualities of air. All that is bound is desire, either to secure the balloon, or to set it free. Neither impacting its relationship with air.

There is a middle way that rests in harmony with love. Devote oneself to its purpose, as all discovery is seen within passage, commencing and extending thru Oneself.
